I ordered this book for myself and my son in law and we both agree this is the most complete history of Vicksburg and surrounding areas ever published!

Excellent book! I highly recommend it to people interested the Vicksburg area, and history buffs in general! Michael Logue is a recognized authority on Vicksburg history, and his writing is engaging and fun to read. The book is a must for Mississippi history enthusiasts. Your book is going to go really big! Excellent, engaging writing - I binge read it in a couple of days, and learned so much. And I'm a Vicksburg history nerd and thought I knew a lot!

I just got my copy yesterday and I have already read the first section. This is something that I have always wanted, which is a day by day account of the important events and developments. Plus I appreciate the fact that it goes beyond the Civil War, and into the Reconstruction and Recovery periods after the war. And MANY names of significant people of both the military and the citizenry! This is a MUST for all Civil War buffs and anyone who loves knowing the facts in chronological order. Outstanding and unique book.
